Of course he had his little helper with him for a short while.
And it is done! We're waiting for it to dry so we can grout it tomorrow. We'll see how much of this bathroom we can finish this weekend!
We bought a house. It needs some updates. Just new electrical service, a new kitchen, an updated bathroom, new paint, some new appliances, front porch repairs, minor roof work, and a couple other things here and there. We're attempting to do most of the work by ourselves. Hopefully, we won't kill ourselves (or each other!) in the process. I'm documenting it mostly for my own benefit - it's fun to look back and see what we've accomplished.

Wow, the floor looks great. Tell me about tiling- is it a pain? We may be doing our own floors in our house (because my grown-up little boy wants to save money for toys in the house.)
Congrats on a beautiful bathroom floor!! And, I love the mini-plumber's crack :)
Hey Alison! Tiling is so-so. It's a pain to cut the tiles. Just measuring them out and cutting them is so time consuming. My husband is kind of perfectionist (and I am not!). So he takes a long time to "make sure everything is right." It's probably done a lot better that way but I have no patience.
Our bathroom is about 30 sq. ft. I think it took him about 7 hours to put the tiles down. But that's including the cutting time and whatnot. And drilling holes in them for the pipes and whatnot. It takes a while to spread the mortar down evenly too.
